Over 35 years ago, in December 1984, Sally Clarke opened
Clarke’s Restaurant in London’s Notting Hill, offering a
daily changing, no choice, four course dinner menu.
5 years later, in response to the demands of restaurant customers
for Clarke’s to provide their breads, savoury tarts, pastries
and cakes on a retail basis, the Shop next door opened.
Over the years, the Shop has evolved and grown and now,
thanks to our Bakery and Production Kitchen, based just a
stone’s throw away in North Kensington, we offer our retail
customers a daily changing selection of items to take home, including
soups, salads, pasta sauces, arguably the best chicken pie ever,
freshly baked sweet and savoury items, granola, cheeses,
olive oils, a wine list featuring the Restaurant’s finest,
and world-renowned dark chocolate truffles.
Since the temporary closure of the Shop,
in March 2020, we have been busily working in the background,
to create what we hope will be a half-way house,
a home from home, to many of you.

we are softly re-opening our doors,
whilst keeping both you and our staff safe.
